Finally we have done our first C.A.S fundraiser/event!!! I
am very proud to say that Koral and I Created this event and executed it with
little to no parent help! I had no Idea I could ever hold such an event or let
alone a “Graffiti event”. I truly felt like I have grown over the past two
weeks tremendously because now I have the confidence and help needed to do more
and more events like our last one. I don’t want to brag and say it was easy,
but it really wasn't that bad. I also know now what needs to be done earlier,
and what I can do just a couple days before the event. All in all this was a
success; we had a little over 20 people show up and spray. Thank You!!!

Overview to now
With all that we’ve done over the year, I look back now and
realize how bad of a student I am. Having teachers who are constantly pushing
my limits and helping me out, I still have no drive to do activities that I
find hard, or just not interesting. About two weeks ago I pondered on why I
procrastinate so much when it comes to anything school oriented. I realized
then that the only reason I chose the Tamarindo skate park as my project was
because I felt it needed help. And it does, which is why I have continued to
work diligently with Koral and simona. With the year coming to an end, I feel
more pumped to do something helpful for the project than ever!

I honestly hate this project. I can't stand it so much because it's a direct reflection of all my flaws; It spits in my face every time I want to actually get something done. I'm unmotivated, forgetful, bad at following through with tasks, even if there are dates, and I hate it. I don't want to be told what an irresponsible student I am, because I know I'm not, I know I could do so much more for this project. I just haven't found the way to channel how difficult it is in a positive manner. It really bums me out to think that i want to give up because I am such a perseverant person; I've never quit anything this important in my life, and I don't want to start now. But it's not all my fault, yeah i might be hard to motivate, but that's because i can't do it myself. My partner doesn't help me get anything done, in fact i have to push him always! and Simona as my mentor could do so much more morally for me. i need her to be more pushing on me; i know she has her own life and she doesn't need this project, and i should be happy for the time she takes out of her days to help me with conformational things, but to be earnest, I'd rather her not be involved at all then give me half of her attention and nun of her interest. I alone can dream all I want of how great the world could be, but it takes many more to make the change. Same goes for my project, I can't do this alone, let alone if I much rather not to do it at all, which is why I need exterior motivation. I feel this is different than other homework's because it doesn't seem as lineant as other school tasks, and by the end your shocked at how much time has passed and you haven't gotten anything done. Yet despite all this negativity, I feel strangely confident that I will be done by the end of the year with the project. Now that I look back, it seems as if I've needed to procrastinate all along because time is my motivation, as strange as that might sound; the pressure of less time gets me moving and actually getting things done for the overall completion of S.O.S

Finally things seem to be moving after this two week brake. Zach and I are now putting into procession a "Graffiti painting event" that will take place June 1rst!! We have spoken to Simona, and it seems she will be giving us the heads up on this project. We are excited for the turn out and can't wait to beautify the park!
S.O.S "Re- Spray Competition"
With the S.O.S team planning a "Re-Spay Competition for the Tamarindo skate parks bowl, we are full of ideas and excitement. Although we don't have a date yet, we are hoping to get as many people as we can come and show use their spray painting skills!! So if you are interested in tagging or know some one who is, let them know about us and we will hopefully see you guys at the event. If you win, the top 3 or 4 contestants will get to tag their own piece of art "Legally" in the bowl. But before we do all of that we are going to clean out the bowl so the contestants have a clean slate to spray on. The project will be held on May 11th at the skate park!! Get stoked!

Sadly, I've been gone for 3 weeks and haven't been able to help Koral very much. But during my absence I've spoken with my parents and they have agreed to donate x amount of money to the S.O.S fund which will help us through physical aspects of the actual park. We are planning to incorporate this money by renewing the basketball hoops, switch the swing chains and re-paint the parts all over the skate park. With the end of the term coming I am a little doubtful with myself because of all the homework and after school events me and Koral had have. Recently we have both been very busy and sometimes contributing the time is hard. With the help of others though I have a new outlook on the S.O.S project and I am really looking forward to making it a lot nicer!
